In the foreword to my book, I commented that a project of this magnitude could only be achieved by the dedicated effort of individuals working together as a team. Recognition for building the website is now due. Just as the preparation and writing of the book involved a great deal of learning, so too has the creation of this website. The malleability of the medium is truly incredible. Karen Evans, Project Coordinator for Rescuing da Vinci, has worked tirelessly on every aspect of this endeavor from the outset. Her commitment to this great story and those who saved our cultural treasures has been resolute. Greg della Stua and Joshua Weikersheimer both assisted us in the lengthy planning process such an endeavor requires. The team at Laurel Publishing – Karen, Michele, Patricia, Elizabeth, James, and Tonya, among others, continue their commitment to excellence in all that we do. The website has been designed and built by the creative talents of the team at TargetScope, Inc. Our relationship has, and continues to be, an outstanding merging of abilities. Their commitment to designing a dynamic website that will provide a “meeting place” for anyone in the world to exchange information with us on this topic has been unwavering. Their passion for this exciting story has been evident in each phase of the work. To Chet, Chris D., Casey, Justin, Chris H. and Destin, we want to express our respect for your professionalism and commitment to this project and to honoring these deserving heroes. Onward to Phase II and Phase III! To Ken Mandel and Shane Estep; thanks for your assistance with our filming and editing. To Michael Friedman, your counsel is always valued. And to all those who have encouraged us and helped along the way, THANK YOU! There is more to be done; we’re grateful for the opportunity of a lifetime! Robert M. Edsel |
